Childhope Philippines Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit, non-government organization working to promote the welfare of street children in the Philippines. It advocates for and upholds the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN-CRC), focusing on children and youth in street situations. More than teaching them the basics of reading and writing, Childhope assists them to develop the values they need so they can grow up to become caring, confident, responsible, and resilient members of society. Childhope PH believes in “education without borders”, where the Alternative Education sessions seek to make a difference in the lives of street children by giving them the opportunities for holistic development and learning to read and write. Guided by the caring-healing-teaching framework, its banner program, the Street Education and Protection (STEP) Program provides for a child’s holistic development through education, social welfare, health and skills development projects--putting the best interest of the child at the centre of the program.
