During this pandemic, now more than ever, Assertiveness Communication is an important skill to master since there’s more collaboration, virtual meetings and increase communication exchanges happening not only in the workplace but also in our personal life.
This is the reason why bringing your views, suggestions, and brilliant ideas to the table will make a huge difference in leveling up your organization during a crisis such as what we are experiencing now. However, at times, what happens is that we hold back and keep the message we want to impart to ourselves because of shyness, fear, and focused on what other people will say.
It’s time to eliminate this mindset and strengthen our assertiveness skills. Remember that being assertive shows that you respect yourself. That you’re willing to stand up for your interests and express your thoughts and feelings. It also demonstrates that you’re aware of the rights of others and are willing to work on resolving conflicts. However, your ability to assertively communicate changes especially when you are intimidated by the position, tenure, and expertise of the people you are working with.
Communicating Assertively is not just what you say — your message — but also how you say it that’s important. Assertive communication is direct and respectful. Being assertive gives you the best chance of successfully delivering your message. If you communicate in a way that’s too passive or too aggressive, your message may get lost because people are too busy reacting to your delivery.
This is easier said than done that’s why in this webinar workshop, you will be able to hone and develop one of the most important skills in today’s new normal which is assertiveness skill.
