In this class, you and your partner will learn about the art of making a river table in the format of a charcuterie board that you can then take home! All the techniques for building larger river tables on your own will be covered. This is the perfect class for people wanting to learn how to work safely and effectively with resin & wood and takes place over the course of 2 consecutive weeks.
Students will learn how to select, prepare and cut a wood slab from our live edge inventory. Next we will build and prepare a mold to custom fit the wood you have prepared. Then we will discuss options for pigments/colors before mixing and pouring commences. Projects will be left to cure until the second session of class the following week.
Students will return to remove their cured board from the mold and flatten in our woodshop. Students will learn proper sanding techniques and steps needed to take before applying a finish.
All materials provided. If you would like to personalize your board by adding items such as rocks or other non porous materials, please bring them with you to class.
Ages 16+ welcome
No Experience Needed! Class will move at a pace comfortable for a beginner making their first epoxy table. All tools being used will be explained and demonstrated to each student prior to use.
