Raise your glasses for a good cause. The fundraiser aims to spread awareness on the importance of improving the aquatic and terrestrial environment of Legazpi City with a focus on the Macabalo River, which has become a main source of pollution affecting human health, biodiversity and coral reefs with serious negative impact on fish catches as well as on tourism.
Proceeds from fundraising will be used to strengthen the community work of AYC. In collaboration with Legazpi City’s Integrated Coastal Resource Management Unit the Club will initiate a Youth-to-Youth strategy for educating the residents along the banks of Macabalo River on sound waste disposal practices. This, we expect, will turn the tide, starting concerted inter-sectoral action for improving the environment in Legazpi City and Albay Gulf.
AYC promotes positive youth development into programs. From excellent youth and adult sailing programs, the Albay Yacht Club provides its members with the facilities they need for society. It teaches the spirit and manners of a yachtsman, gentlemanly behavior, kindness and the joy of sailing.
These programs maximize the participation of the youth in nation-building as responsible and proactive citizens.

ABOUT AYC:
AYC is a historic club founded in 1907. After a century of dormancy, the resurrected AYC found its place in Brgy. Puro, at Legazpi Boulevard in 2020 with main office in Legazpi Oceanfront Hostel and crafts and facilities in “the boatyard” between the Hostel and the Macabalo Estuary.
